This is my favorite crochet afghan pattern. I’ve made several of them over the years in a variety of sizes and colors. The picture shown is a small baby doll blanket I made a few years ago that my granddaughters now play with.
I got this pattern from a skein of Caron Cuddle Soft baby yarn many years ago (probably at least 20). I love it because it’s one you don’t have to think about. You can lay it down and pick it right back up without having to think about where you left off.
Pastel Delight
Skill level: Easy
Materials: 5 total skeins (1 of each color; 3 colors along with 2 white, 5 of variegated, use scraps, etc), crochet hook size G
Finished size: 26” x 30” (remember the one pictured is baby doll size)
Gauge: In pattern, 5 groups of (sc,ch 2) = 2”
With first color, chain 151
Row 1: Sc in 3rd ch from hook, * ch 2, sk 2, sc in next st *, repeat from * to * across row, ending with sc in last ch, ch 1, turn
Row 2 (pattern row): Sc in 1st sc, * ch 2, sc in next sp*, repeat from * to * across row, ending with sc in turning ch, ch 1 turn
Row 3- 40: Repeat row 2.
If you are wanting to change colors anytime throughout - Join next color in the last st of last row by pulling it through the last half of the last sc of row, cut previous color.
When finished, sc around entire afghan or do any decorative stitch you desire.
Oh I wish I knew how to do something like this, great post! Am a happy new follower :).
